Mission Trips

Mission trip opportunities are offered every year for our senior high students (completed 9th - 12th grade), and every other year for our junior high students (completed 6th - 8th grade). An international mission trip is offered every four years for our senior high students.

Missions in Focus - Summer 2017 Mission Trips:

In 2017 our Senior High students will have the opportunity to travel to Costa Rica for a two-week mission trip. We will be partnering with area churches in Costa Rica to help with local home construction and repair projects in their community and also be leading a Vacation Bible School for children in the area. We will also have the opportunity to participate in some fun experiences too, such as zip-lining. The dates for this trip are July 2 - July 15, and this trip is open to any student who is currently in high school. There a few spots left on this trip, so please please contact Frank Newburn, fnewburn@wesley-umc.com, as soon as possible to register and give your deposit check.

Our Junior High students will be going to serve at the Christian Discipleship Farm in Wisconsin in 2017. They will provide an enhanced Vacation Bible School Day Camp for children and young adults with special needs. The campers and their families spend the week having fun together, learning about God's love for them, and being loved on by camp volunteers (that's us!) in an outdoor farm environment. After volunteering at the camp during the day, volunteers will have the opportunity to participate in afternoon fun activities followed by dinner, worship, and late-night games. The dates for this trip are August 6 - August 12, and this trip is open to any student who is in grades 6 - 8 this year.

Ongoing Mission Project
Safe Harbor - 3rd Thursday of Each Month, 5:15 - 7:30 PM

All youth are invited to help prepare and serve a meal at our local Safe Harbor Homeless Shelter. Steve Brown, Brad Schumann, and Darcy Bogle make the dinner plans and gather the ingredients for you to help create a great meal for those in our community that are in need. Transportation is provided from the church to Safe Harbor, and back. Sign up & find more information on the Youth Board.

*Note: Homemade cookies (8-10 dozen, at least 3-inch diameter) are needed for dessert each month. If you would like to serve Safe Harbor by providing dessert on our 3rd Thursdays, find more information on the Youth Board in the Parking Lot Lobby.

*Note: Permission Forms are needed to transport students. Forms are available on the Youth Board.
