Volunteer Needs

altThere are many ways to volunteer in the youth program. If you have a heart for students and want to serve, please talk to Frank Newburn or Stacy Ash at the church.

Here are some ways you can serve in the youth program...

Small Group Leaders

As our Wednesday night program is growing we need to add more male and female adult small group leaders.  On Wednesday nights we offer a small group for every student by grade and gender. Small group leaders are provided with discussion material, and meet together monthly for training, study, support, and fellowship with other adult leaders. Small group leaders are asked to commit to being present in their small group on most Wednesday evenings, attend the youth worship and game time before small groups if possible, and attend monthly adult leader meetings. We would like to have three adults in every small group. If you are interested in being a small group leader, or are interested in being a support leader (a 2nd or 3rd adult in the small group, but not leading), please talk to Frank Newburn or Stacy Ash.

Fall & Summer Sunday school - leaders & subs

Fall Sunday school begins 8/29, and it's never too early to start planning for summer! If you are interested in helping as a  substitute or regular Sunday school leader in grades 6-12, please talk to Frank Newburn or Stacy Ash. Materials and support are provided.

Photo uploading to church web-site

Do you have some time to upload our event photos to the church web-site? Contact Stacy Ash or Frank Newburn for details. We have lots of photos that can be added to the youth section of the web-site. It’s easy! We will show you how, and you can use the church library computers.

Photo archiving

Would you be interested in helping with a photo archiving get-together? We have tons of youth photos that need to be archived, and put into photo albums. We have students that would love to come and help! We could use one ore more adults willing to set up a Saturday, Sunday afternoon, or week-night gathering, or a spring break fathering, and work with students to archive these photos. We have some photo-safe pencils and pens, and will provide the photo albums. A fun day with students and photos!

Tutoring

We have a few adults that have offered tutoring services here at Wesley. Are you interested in being a tutor on Wednesday nights? No specific plans have been made yet in details – but we know that there are students that might need extra homework help on Wednesday nights, and adults that may be willing to share their talents in various subjects. If you are an adult who would be willing to sit with students for an hour or two on Wednesday nights, or possibly other times, please let Stacy Ash know. ALSO, if you think you child would be interested in homework help, please Stacy know as well. More details hopefully will be available soon on this project.
