This Summer, Surge will be sending students and adult leaders on two different mission trips, where they will get to experience the power of God through their service toward others. Junior High students (completed 6-8th grade) will be going to Minneapolis, Minnesota June 23-28. The students will have an opportunity to learn about poverty and hunger through daily study and hands on service in a variety or ministry locations. The Senior High students (competed 9-12th grade) will be going to Baja, Mexico June 21-July 5 for an adventure trip. The first week will be spent working on construction projects at a local Christian camp and working with local children. Surge Summer BBQ and Bible Study

Join us every Wednesday night this summer for our Surge BBQ and Bible Study! We will meet at a different host home each week for a time of food, fun, and fellowship from 6-8pm. There will be lots of fun games and time to hang out, so feel free to bring friends! We’d ask also if each person can bring either a side dish, fruit, chips, or dessert to share with the group along with their $2 for the main course and drinks that will be provided by the hosts. Below are the host families that have already volunteered for this summer. Is Your Permission Form On File?
A general permission form will be kept on file every year for every student that regularly participates in youth program events. Forms were mailed to youth families in August. Additional forms are available on the youth board, and should be turned into either Frank Newburn's or Stacy Ash's mail slot at church. It is our intention to keep a form for each student on file for the year will eliminate the need for parents to fill out multiple health forms during the year, and will also allow us quick access to health information if needed. Students must turn in a form before participating in some youth events. Please contact Frank Newburn or Stacy Ash with any questions.
Sunday night Bible studies for senior high
On Sunday nights, 7:00-9:00p, there is a senior high girls Bible Study and a senior high boys Bible Study. The girls meet at the home of Sara Newburn. The guys meet at the home of Giles Roll. We study either a book of the Bible, or a book that will challenge us in our spiritual growth and relationship with Christ to live in this world as young Christian men and women.
The girls will be studying the book "God Up Close" and the guys will be studying the book "Wild At Heart". You can join us at anytime during the study - you don't have to wait until we start a new book.

Dessert, fun and fellowship with friends, and diving into God's Word together each week ... provided!
Talk to Frank Newburn (827-8046 x24) or Stacy Ash (827-8046 x16) if you have any questions.
Safe Harbor - Youth Serve Night
The students of Wesley prepare and serve a meal at Safe Harbor every 3rd Thursday of each month. Brad Schumann, Steve Brown, and Darcy Bogle buy the groceries, transport the students, and help you prepare and serve the meal. If you would like to serve those people in our community that need a hot meal, and a smile from a friendly face, sign up on the youth board. Students must have a permission form on file (see forms on the youth board). Students leave from Wesley with one of the coordinators at 5:10pm, and the coordinator will return the students to Wesley by 7:30pm.
If you are unable to serve at Safe Harbor, but would like to serve in a different way - you can bake cookies! We serve homemade cookies for dessert on our 3rd Thursdays. You can sign up on the youth board to bake cookies. The cookies need to be at least 3 inches in diameter please. More information is on the youth board.
