Hello Wesley United Methodist Church,
It is with excitement that I introduce myself, and my wife Kimberly, to you! I will begin serving as your new Associate Pastor in July.
Kimberly and I are both graduates of Nebraska Wesleyan University. During our time there, I served as Director of Youth Ministries for First United Methodist Church in Waverly, NE. It was during my time in Waverly that my call to ordained ministry was confirmed.
In 2014, I graduated with a Master of Divinity degree from Asbury Theological Seminary and was commissioned a Provisional Elder in the Dakotas Annual Conference. I’m currently serving as Pastor of Arthur United Methodist Church in Arthur, ND, and will be ordained as an Elder in the Dakotas Annual Conference this June. While serving Arthur UMC I’ve enjoyed leading Journey Renewal, a congregational revitalization effort, developing a middle school youth group, and serving as the Young Adult and Campus Ministries representative for the Conference. I enjoy exploring new opportunities for ministry and am always looking for creative ways for the church to worship and serve. My personal hobbies include architecture and design, fixer-upper projects, and reading.
Kimberly currently works as Administrative Assistant for Residence Life at the University of North Dakota. We are moving to Bloomington, as Kimberly will begin studies in the fall for a Master of Music in Music Therapy at Illinois State University. In her spare time, she enjoys being involved in a variety of music activities, baking, and being active in the church. Together, Kimberly and I enjoy spending time with family and friends, spoiling our dog Cooper, traveling, hiking, camping, jogging, and watching our favorite television shows and movies.
Kimberly and I visited Wesley UMC today and had an opportunity to speak with several leaders. I am excited to join in the ministries of this congregation and look forward to working with you as we serve the Kingdom of God.
I want you to know that I am praying for you, for the ministries of Wesley UMC, and for Rev. Angie and her family as they prepare to transition. Kimberly and I would also appreciate your prayers for us, specifically for God’s guidance and provision as we begin this next step in our journey. I look forward to meeting you very soon!
Grace and peace,
Pastor Justin Iverson
